EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) synthetic rubber is an elastomer with a variety of applications and manufacturing methods.
Manufactured from EPDM, EPDM rubber caps are ideal for masking up to 160•c. The high temperature resistance means they can be re-used over and over. When used as rubber caps, the EPDM Rubber cap is simply pushed over the stud or pin requiring masking. As a plug, it is often best to push the EMDP Rubber caps into the hole to be masked, using a radiused end insertion tool, or on larger sizes, the end of a pencil or pen. After processing, the EPDM Rubber cap is simply removed, while the component is still warm. Any coating build up can be removed manually, or in a rumbler.
When using the M2.5 EPDM Rubber Cap for general protection or aesthetic use the cap is fitted securely and remains in place.
